Kutaisi, de tweede grootste stad van Georgië in het westelijke deel is ongeveer 4000 jaar geleden opgericht. Het was de voormalige hoofdstad van het West-Georgische Koninkrijk Colchis, waaraan de mythe van het Gulden Vlies en Argonauts zijn gerelateerd.
We gaan hier de Prometheus Grot (Speleologische tour) bezoeken. Een schitterende oude grot, prachtig verlicht – een echte levenservaring.
Vervolgens reizen wij af naar Martvili waar we de Martvili Canyons bezoeken. De Martvili canyons werden gebruikt door de Dadiani familie als badplaats. Nu kan iedereen een bezoek aan dit prachtige landschap brengen, welke prachtige watervallen heeft. Je kunt hier echt tot rust komen en genieten van een boottocht in de rivier welke diepe groene kleur heeft.

Een van de hoogste nederzettingen van Europa, ligt in Svaneti. Dit gebied is gelegen op de zuidelijke hellingen van de Kaukasus-gebergte op ca. 2200 meter boven de zeespiegel.
Omringd door de reusachtige gletsjers van de Kaukasus, is Svaneti een van de opmerkelijkste regio’s van Georgië met een rijk historisch erfgoed, pictureske natuur en goud gebracht door de overvloedige bergrivieren van Svaneti.
Een bekende mythe van de reis van de “Griekse Argonauts ‘naar Colchis voor het Gouden Vlies” wordt gedacht te refereren naar het goud van Svaneti welke door de rivieren naar de regio gebracht werd.
De bevolking van Svaneti staat bekend om hun toren nederzettingen, unieke soorten tarwe, heerlijke gerechten en de warme gastvrijheid.
